Guangzhou

A rubbish bin in Guangzhou, which also has one of the most exotic markets in China, turtles and tortoises, cats and dogs, pine martens and snakes, all alive and waiting for the wok. The northern Chinese say of the Cantonese that they eat everything with legs apart from the table, and anything that flies apart from the aeroplane. The food was quite splendid everywhere we went in China, although the dog was overated.
